Thank you to everyone who attended the 2019 Columbia Pike Progress Luncheon on May 2, 2019. Over 120 businesses, residents, and County officials gathered to discuss the progress made in the last year as well as the future vision for Columbia Pike.
Arlington County Board Chair Christian Dorsey spoke about the growth the area has seen recently and the County’s commitment to affordable housing and transportation improvements on the Pike. Arlington Economic Development Director Victor Hoskins presented information on the deal struck with Amazon for HQ2 and the “Amazon Effect” the County anticipates seeing along Columbia Pike.
After our speakers, Orr Partners Founder David Orr led a lively panel discussion on “Why the Pike?” with local business leaders Emerson Doyle (EvolveAll), Nick Freshman (La Cocina), and Tony Wagner (Josephine’s Italian Kitchen). Each panelist shared their unique perspectives on why they chose to open businesses on Columbia Pike, what they love about the neighborhood, and the challenges they face.
