The Arlington Public Library is continuing its Arlington Reads series in 2021 with “Food for Thought,” which will feature five incredible changemakers — a National Book Award winner, a New York Times-bestselling novelist, an acclaimed journalist winner of the Hillman Prize, a Simpson/ Joyce Carol Oates Prize winner, and a MacArthur Fellow — whose kinetic, discerning and unapologetic writing set the table for a transformative future.
The Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization is proud to sponsor the first conversation in the series, a conversation with Masha Gessen, one of the most trenchant observers of politics and society today and the author of eleven books, including “Surviving Autocracy” and “The Future Is History: How Totalitarianism Reclaimed Russia,” which won the National Book Award in 2017.
The event will take place on Facebook Live and Youtube on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, 7 – 8 pm. Event is free, but registration is required.
Make the most of the event by picking up dinner from participating Columbia Pike restaurants before the event: Café Sazon, Rebellion on the Pike, Rincome Thai, Ruthie’s All-Day, and William Jeffrey’s Tavern.
