Arlington County — and the surrounding areas — is set to enter Phase 2 of reopening on Friday, June 12, as laid out in the “Forward Virginia” plan by Governor Northam. To help you prepare, we’ve compiled the most important information businesses and residents alike need to know.
What’s Changed?
During Phase 2, social gathering limits are increased to 50 or 50% capacity (whichever is less), restaurants may open for indoor dining, gyms and fitness centers can reopen and more. However, entertainment venues, schools, and overnight camps remain closed.

Businesses can find assistance in reopening from various sources including CPRO, Arlington County, and Arlington Economic Development.
The Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization now hosts monthly roundtable discussions (virtually) with Columbia Pike businesses. The roundtables are open to all Pike business owners and managers.
Reopening in Arlington

In order to assist restaurants with reopening and compliance with Virginia’s outdoor dining regulations, Arlington County has approved a new Temporary Outdoor Seating Area (TOSA) process that allows permits to be approved quickly by county staff.
Any Columbia Pike business may request a FREE banner to help them communicate their status to customers. CPRO offers 5 free options and may be able to provide custom options at a small fee.
Additionally, CPRO offers its members free consultations for those in need of assistance finding technical solutions for teleworking, online sales, and more.
Arlington Economic Development’s BizLaunch is continuing its free “Onward Arlington” webinars to help small businesses plan for reopening. Registration is required.
